Mayor Walsh announces planning initiatives for Downtown, East Boston, Mattapan, Newmarket, Allston-Brighton neighborhoods

BOSTON – Wednesday, June 6, 2018 – Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced that the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), with stakeholders from across the City, will launch planning initiatives this year in Downtown, East Boston, Mattapan, Newmarket, and a mobility-focused planning initiative in Allston-Brighton. Guided by Imagine Boston 2030, Mayor Walsh looks to continue working in partnership with communities across the City to ensure Boston preserves wisely, enhances equitably, and grows inclusively.  Through these three principles of “preserve, enhance, and grow,” the planning initiatives will work with the community to create a comprehensive vision for each of the planning areas and guide future growth and investment. Mayor Walsh announces AmeriCorps Vista members to build capacity in closing food access gaps in Boston

BOSTON – Thursday, May 17, 2018 – Today, Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced the Mayor’s Office of Valley Access (OFA) and Project Bread have been selected to receive two AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) service members to close food access gaps in the City of Boston and surrounding communities. Mayor Walsh joins rally to demand action on gun violence

Thursday, June 30, 2016 – Mayor Martin J. Walsh today joined U.S. Congresswoman Katherine Clark, Senate President Stan Rosenberg, Speaker Robert DeLeo, Attorney General Maura Healey, Congressman Joseph Kennedy and Sheriff Steven Tompkins and elected officials from across the Commonwealth for a rally on the Massachusetts State House steps to demand action on ending gun violence.
