Baker-Polito Administration announces $500,000 MassWorks award for Somerville

SOMERVILLE – December 14, 2018 – Today, the Baker-Polito Administration announced a $500,000 MassWorks Infrastructure Program grant for water and sewer improvements for the Boynton Yards area of Somerville. The project will modernize a failing 140-year-old sewer system and enable separated storm-water and sewer service to support the redevelopment of Boynton Yards, which will be served by the Green Line Extension. The MassWorks project will enable the construction of five mixed-use buildings on the site. Governor Patrick joins regional partners to increase access to affordable, clean and reliable energy

Governor Deval Patrick today approved six resolutions that will put Massachusetts on a path to increased access to affordable, cleaner and reliable energy sources and energy-efficient modes of transportation, more efficient disaster planning and increased infrastructure safety.
